Meet your host

I competed my double degree (Bachelor of Primary Education and Bachelor of Arts, Visual Arts) in 2017 at Flinders University. As a Qualified Primary School Teacher, I loved working with children but wasn't so crazy about having to cover the full curriculum. Art had always been my jam, but sadly, there weren't many Primary Art positions going around! It was at this time I began to fantasise about running my own children's art classes, on my own terms. Maybe one day!

 

 After many random contracts and inconsistent relief days, I decided to take the plunge and move to the country for a Visual Arts contract at the small town's Area School. As challenging as it was, it was the foot in the door I needed to experience teaching in a high school setting- and finally I could focus on Visual Arts! Still though, the curriculum felt rigid, behaviours were wild and all the other duties that came with teaching began to take their toll on me mentally and physically. I was very homesick too. 

 

After surviving my contract, I felt I had well and truly gained enough experience to take this business thing more seriously. I had previously worked at a Paint n' Sip studio which reignited my love for painting and gave me the confidence I needed to start something of my own; something unique, that combines my inclusive teaching philosophy with the joy of creating with paint.

 

And so, Brushflicks n' Chill was born: a flexible service that comes to you. Brushflicks n' Chill offers canvas painting sessions for people of all ages and skill levels. Our painting sessions can be arranged to suit any event in almost any setting, whether it's your staff room, your local wine bar or your own home. We provide everything you need for a soothing, guided canvas painting experience like no other. You'll be surprised by what you can create with us.
